We were approached by our neighbors at Williams Ski & Patio to craft designs for their brand film. Williams is quite the unique business, selling ski’s in the winter and patio furniture in the summer. The most interesting thing was scanning/handling original Williams ads, some from hundreds of years ago.
The Process
We had the chance to visit Williams Ski & Patio to better understand the historical significance of this local business. We put on our white gloves and paged through Williams magazine ads from 1980 and Tent ads from 1920's. We began scanning these ads to later compile into the film.
Movement
Once we combined collage cutouts with modern typography, the result was distinct to any brand film we've seen before. We knew we had to dial up the animation curves for snappy match cuts, clean transitions, and subtle collage animation.
